Ben has severe difficulty dealing with the past. With Peridot gone, he is plagued by nightmares and fears he is losing his mind. He hopes that this can be fixed, and suppresses all the feelings he used to have for her, while trying to not live in fear of the other gems.

Peridot knows what she is. She is a technician, a gem bred for accuracy and technical skill. She is not meant to show emotion, for that is weakness. What can she do when love is like going against everything she ever knew?
