Mason Evers and Jada Vaughn live completely different lives, but perhaps they're not as different as they thought they were.
Mason is determined to get a good education and live a simple life with his brother, Calum, whereas all Jada's ever wanted was to do become a H.E.A.D (Head Enforcer Against Delinquency) and live up to her family's name.
On the day of their graduation, every graduate enters their place on The Hex, except for Mason and Jada. One letter changes everything, and they cross paths, and together they realize that there is something very wrong with the world they are living in. And to add to that, the government is hiding something from not only them, but the entire population of The Hex.
As the secrets unravel, more and more questions appear, and they figure out that life is not what they thought it always was - there is so much more - and the only people who know how to fix The Hex are gone; just as they will be soon.
Equality... Rights... Freedom...
It doesn't exist there. Perhaps it did before, but it doesn't anymore.
Maybe the answers are right under their noses for The Hex...

Astren City, and all surrounding area, have the highest crime rate in the northern part of the country. Dozens of crime families constantly trying to take the throne, as well as corruption lurking around every corner, do not aid in that fact at all. Salem Heart's father, Jack Heart, happens to be the Astren City Chief of Police, a title which holds a lot of weight and a rank that claims even more power. He's well respected, and amazing at his job. That said, greatness is expected of Salem as well. Of course that isn't a problem, Salem will always be loyal to the law.
