It was just a normal day in high school and then panic erupted. Screams and yells filled the air, teachers and students scattered while the smell of blood filled my nostrils. I got knocked to the ground because of a student trying to get to the exit first but all that struggling will do them no good. The same thing was happening outside. People were everywhere. Struggling to open their cars, even fighting back...some even got bitten. I was the last student in the school. I heard something shuffle behind me and I took a deep breath, turning around. One of them had set its sights on me. My eyes narrowed in determination and I clenched my fists. This wasn't a game. You had two choices. You either fight...or you die.



Shay Alexander knew something was going to be different that day but didn't pay it any mind. What she didn't expect was to be in the fight of her life as she tries to find her way back to her family and meets people along the way.
