West Harrison grew up in Sydney. For the majority of his life everything was perfect. That is until his parents and siblings went on a holiday that he couldn't go on due to the recent flu outbreak that he'd fallen victim to. While on this holiday his family was in a fatal accident and only his two brothers and his sister survived. At first it was assumed they'd be put into foster care, however their dads friend from uni rocked up on their door one day and off they went. She was on her way to the spaceport, to board a shuttle that would take her to one of the spacecrafts that will carry all the humans off world... or so she thought. Instead, she was brought to a remote location, doomed to be left on earth, alone and miserable. Now, years later, she's ready to face the wilderness together with her "kidnapper". From here on, it's not about "what" she finds, but "how" she finds herself. Left behind is a short story that tells about a successful woman who's destiny is different than what she thought. In a mass-eviction of a doomed earth, she's the one left behind. She has to cope with things she never would have thought she would.
