In the sixteen years, five months, and three days that he has been alive, Carter James has never said a word. Once upon a time, his mother and his older sister may have imagined a perfect little boy to join their family, but autism wasn't included in that plan. He sits back and watches, thinks, analyzes, but no words come out of his constantly working mind. But things never stay the same- something always changes. And sometimes that something comes in the form of a friend who convinces him that it's okay to be different in a world of labeling.
