It's been almost 15 years since these two worlds were combined fully. An insane necromancer used a ritual to arise King Maxwell the IV from the dead to be his servant, but things go horribly wrong when the king comes back with his entire army and goes to war with the living. How can they fight something that is already dead? Now that the old king is at rule it's normal to see a headless man strolling the streets on his way to work.
Donovan along with thousands of people who are still alive and haven't commit suicide are trying to get along in their harsh world, but living with the undead can cause more problems than it's worth when the king declares that one of his son's is to be engaged and he wants a human.
