Playing Jazz

She's a woman traveling alone in a world full of monsters. With her buck knife strapped to her waist and her saxophone strapped over her shoulder she travels through an even crueler world than even she had ever known. She made herself drift back to the time in her life before the dead walked around every night as she listened to their moans and groans outside. She thought mostly of her jazz band-mates, but the thoughts would always return to that blue eyed boy next door that had captured her heart at one time.

For Jasmine Willow Cole being alone is nothing new. Even when she lived at home with her father she was alone. They lived in a small run down trailer next door to another family. She had never spoken to any of them until her sophomore year of high school. That first encounter was awkward and mean but they soon developed a close friendship. They had told each other all the deep, dark secrets that haunted both of them constantly. They only grew closer as he protected her from her ever increasingly angry father and he had made her a promise that he would take her away from here. He would never let anyone hurt her and he would never leave her alone. It was a promise that she trusted and one that he broke so very soon after he had made it. He had left her without any warning and without even a goodbye.

Now the world has gotten even worse than she had ever known and she is still alone. She was alone, with only her sax and her anger for Daryl Dixon. Unbeknownst to her she is only moments behind that shy, awkward boy that used to hold her heart. She's made sure to keep to herself and avoid any semblance of human contact. She has never needed anyone before and she isn't about to start now that the rest of the world has joined her in a crappy existence. Will she catch up to him and his group? Will they rekindle their unrequited love or will the sight of him just stir up more anger?
