Unlike the other noblewomen, Beatrix possessed remarkable intelligence and a sharp mind, earning admiration from some and disdain from others. The townspeople whispered behind her back, calling her "dirty noble" or "dirty-mud-ball" simply because she dared to be different. But Beatrix had no interest in their approval-her only goal was to find her missing older sister and escape the suffocating town that refused to accept her. Little did she know, her journey would lead her into the path of Karlheinz, a man who was far more than he appeared.
