I have always wondered what the difference between fate and destiny is, if it truly exists. If it does why has destiny only given one option? Why do people smile even though they know that we are only getting closer to that destiny? What is the point of fate if destiny exists? We are all going to die so why does it matter how we get to that grave? Well now nothing will matter anymore. I held a sharpened blade against my throat as the wind kissed my flowing, raven hair. "It's all going to end now" I whispered. I stood motionless on the handrail of a bridge staring at my reflection. Hi readers! This is a short story which was inspired by my own experiences. It's been two years since I left my love and up until now, I'm still struggling to get over him. I had to let go of his hand not because I wanted to but because I had to make a sacrifice for someone else's sake and happiness. He was my greatest 'what if' and I was his greatest regret. Although most of the scenes happened in real life, the rest are pure imagination especially the intense and happy part. We may have just been a "once upon a time" in real life but in this story, I made what should've been our 'happily ever after'.
