When Hailey was eight, she created a club inside the abandoned treehouse in the woods behind her house. All her neighbors became part of it, and they met almost every single day.

But once they left for high school, things changed.

Hailey Bradford: A+ student with a scholarship to Oxford and Princeton. Sort of a loser. Undercover badass (ha ha ha not at all).

Jake Carter: Jock. The life of the party. Typical douchebag...maybe.

Synthia (Syn) Anderson: Delinquent. Bad girl. Never shows up to class and is adored by everyone--besides the teachers, of course.

Tyler Wilson: Another jock. Enemy of Jake Carter. Actually smart. Hates Jake as much as Jake hates him.

Jace Prince: Bad boy of the school. A genius, too. Also, is hated by most of the school but puts up a "don't give a crap" façade. And that's all it is. A façade.

Hailey's been keeping tabs on all of them. What could she do? They were her first and last ever friends. She wants them together again. It worked. Sort of...

"I love how this book is turning out!😍 Not cliche at all!" - i_hatecliche "We might live next door to each other," Haley said, "but we don't live in the same world." Hooking her fingers around her backpack straps, she walked away from Jace. She had barely gone a few steps before he was at her side again. "What makes you believe we don't live in the same world?" he asked. "As far as I can tell, we do." "No, we don't. I'm...me and you're Jace Cortez. The dream of every girl. The friend to every guy. The star of the school. Girls. Sports. You're the ultimate player." "It sounds like you have a preconceived notion of who I am." "And it's one that has yet to be proven wrong." From books and a lifetime of sitting on the sidelines, Haley is convinced she knows how the world works, specifically high school. Everyone has a label and a box they fit in. This knowledge, paired with parents who are fighting, a brother leaving soon for college and a best friend who moved away has made her decide to never get involved. It will take being forced to work with her fellow juniors on a project, a boy next door with a infectious smile, a star gazer with an adorable puppy, and an unlikely pair of fangirls to make her see how truly wrong she was about everything. "IT'S NOT CLICHÉ!!!" - Moria987 "This is the reason y I keep coming back to this book...It's simply a breathtaking journey" - mariyamsajorawala "I don't usually comment but this is one of the best books I've read here. I love the fact that it's realistic and focuses on things that really hinder human interaction, perceptions and stereotypes." - yurfavegal "just gets better and better. How are all your characters 3D! Like this writing is so beautiful" - CrazyStarChick "Reading it for the second time, and the book still brings a smile to my face 😆" - grumpymood "She's practically Carter's twin 😂😂" - Guardian_21 #1 Breakingcliches #1 Arrogant #6 in Teen Romance

"Come on Austin. Please delete the video!" "No way." He smirks, "That'll be too easy." "What do you want from me?" "I need you to be my fake girlfriend." "What! No way in hell." "Fine then I'll just send this to everyone in school." "Okay fine I'll do it," I roll my eyes and he smirks, "but there's rules." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Emma Princeton(18 years old) is a normal teenage girl except she's lost a lot and has a shocking past that only a few people know about. She's not a nerd, although she gets good grades, she has a lot of friends but she's not one of the "populars". Austin King(also 18 just a couple months older), the schools bad boy. The top one in the "populars" group. He's known for dating girls for a day or two then breaking their hearts and tossing them to the side. Never thinking about them again. But what happens when Emma finds herself in a situation where Austin has a certain leverage over her and needs a fake girlfriend that's presentable to his mother and not one of his usual flings? What happens when Emma agrees, will they fall in love? Or will he just use her and break her heart like all the other girls that he's dated? There's a thin line between love and hate.
