Ella has always known her mother was a witch, she grew up around potions and spells and when her mother died, she took over making the cold creams and hand lotions for the locals in town.
When Jacob comes calling she has no idea who he is or what he is capable of and neither of them could have guessed they were destined to meet.
Ella is drawn to Jacob in a way she doesn’t understand and agrees to help him lift a curse, only to find things out about herself, and Jacob, she had never dreamed possible.

Ella makes potions and creams for her neighbourhood, her mother was a witch but she died some years ago. Jacob comes into Ella’s life and she agrees to help him lift a curse put on his house by her mother who unbeknownst to her was a witch princess who ran away. Ella moves into Jacob’s house to help with the curse, she is drawn to him strongly and tries to resist as he is a vampire and she is a little afraid. However she ends up in a relationship of sorts with him. She meets her mother’s family and starts to get involved in vampire and witch politics which as it turns out is exactly what her mother was running away from. She eventually leaves Jacob’s home after lifting the curse and he will not embark on a real relationship with her as he is worried about the danger. She is taken by witch rebels who were also the reason her mother ran off years ago when they kidnapped and hurt her. Jacob rescues Ella and kills all the witches who had taken her and it turns out that Ella’s mother placed the curse and sent Ella and Jacob a dream in which they first met so they would meet in the future and fall in love so Jacob could protect her from the rebel witches who had hurt her many years ago and who she knew would come for Ella.
