The day they found Clair she was only four. All she can remember is the flashing lights and the scary noises and the people rushing around her. Question after question was thrown at her. Nothing else. Where she came from or who she was. For the people at Crain Beech that day, its another story. They say she just popped out of the ocean out of the blue. When they dragged her on to the sandy beach her heart wasn't beating. The ambulance was barely able to start it again. After the horrifying night, no one claimed her. Her face was slapped on every news paper, every website, every social media sight. No one came.
Twelve years later, Claire moves to Boston with her new foster family. Yet again, she has to go to a new school, make new friends, and try to live a normal life before she is moved to her next foster family.
But what if this time's different? What if she is able to find something about her past? And what if she finds what she's up against?

Join Clair on her journey to find who she really is.

Cass has no memories of her parents, only impossible dreams of waves and orcas and, sometimes, her mother's voice. When she and her adopted aunt return to the Pacific Northwest island--where her parents died twelve years before--Cass hopes the place will trigger long-buried memories. Instead, she discovers that the impossible is real, and that history is about to repeat itself. Unless she can stop it. ***Teaser*** The water hit with such a shock of cold that Cass thought she was going to pedal up and out of it again like some cartoon character. Instead, she flailed and splashed and smashed one arm against a piling as salt water poured into her raincoat & filled her shoes. "How do you like it?" Jason yelled. She spun until she could make out his form, black against gray sky. "What?" she sputtered. She dragged one arm from the water long enough to shove wet hair from her face. Jason became clearer: black hair dark above his yellow raincoat, arms crossed over his chest. "What the hell are you talking about?" "I asked how you like it, going for a swim in this water." She was open-mouthed with disbelief. It was a bad idea; a surge lifted her and slapped salt water into her mouth. Bile burned her throat as she coughed and all the while she was still flailing at the water, fighting the drag of shoes and clothes to keep afloat. She should kick them off-that's what you were supposed to do if you fell into the ocean with your clothes on-but she was only a dozen feet from the dock. Besides, it was her only coat. Jason watched her the way she'd watch a barracuda. "I know you're following me." "Following you?" What. The. Hell. She gave a mighty kick and tossed her coat onto the dock. Jason just stood there. "I nearly drowned last week, you know that? Now you show up as if nothing happened." "Last week," Cass said slowly, "I was in Argentina." Whatever he'd seen, it wasn't her.

Life is going well for Cara Jenson. She's doing well in school, has a great group of friends, and the best thirteen year old sister anyone could ask for. Well, until things aren't fine anymore and her little sister Kailee starts showing signs of change. What first starts off as minor, ends up spiraling out of hand once Kailee turns fourteen and only Cara sees that there's something wrong with her. Deep, hidden pain coming from somewhere that only Cara could help her figure out. **** Now, it was Wednesday afternoon and Cara was headed over to her sister's Middle School to meet her. Once she reached the entrance, Kailee wasn't there. After waiting around for a couple of seconds, thirty max, Cara went into the school, automatically seeing Liane coming down the hallway towards her. Once the two girls were a few feet away from each other, Cara said, "Hey, Liane?" Liane looked up. "Is Kailee at her locker or something? Have you seen her?" Liane frowned, her face full of confusion. "Um... no. She didn't come in today." Cara's eyebrows went up. "Oh?" Then where could she possibly be? "Um, right. Okay, thanks." Cara started to leave, but Liane stopped her. "Oh wait. Um, can you tell Kailee to call me please?" "Uh, sure." Liane smiled her little kid smile. "Thanks Cara. Bye." "Bye." Liane rushed off. Now, Cara was in a full state of confusion. Why wasn't her sister in school? What could she do? She decided to go back outside, knowing her mother was waiting by the sidewalk. What greeted her at the entrance of the school, caught her totally off guard. ***** **Message I'd like to give a personal s/o to @Sophie841 for creating this cover for me

In this new world, the rules are different but just as dangerous. Though she is now a noble, she understands that her place in this society is fragile, bound by rigid social hierarchies and unspoken power struggles. Determined to never suffer the way she did before, Celeste vows to play the long game, quietly learning the intricacies of noble life while plotting her path to independence. With a distant father, a cold mother, and siblings who seem just as trapped in the family's expectations, Celeste must navigate the complex dynamics of her household while concealing the truth about who she really is. She faces an internal battle between accepting her fate as a young noble girl and using the memories of her previous life to forge a future that is truly her own. Armed with the wisdom of her past and the opportunities of her present, Celeste embarks on a journey of survival and self-discovery. But in a world where appearances mean everything, how long can she maintain the charade before her secrets unravel? And when they do, will she have the strength to rise from the ashes once again?
