Lily and Mae have always been best friends. Ever since they were born, in fact. Lily being born 2 minutes before Mae. Lily always liked to brag to Mae about being the older twin. But, as much as she liked to brag, she never was the lucky twin. Mae always had the boys throwing themselves at her. Maybe, because she was the more outgoing twin. Or, that she knew how to dress herself to perfection. But, Lily? She was shy, not too many boys liked her, even though she looked exactly like Mae. She dressed to hide herself, never too pleased with her body. She hid behind books and walls. Mae's boyfriend, Calum Hood, comes to visit for a month at Mae and Lily's family cabin, as well as his three other friends. The twins and the boys for one whole month without adult supervision? But, the first day never was that good. Lily still being the unlucky one, she felt sick. Rushed to the hospital, they found out she had cancer - and only one month to live. Margaret, or "Margie" to her friends, has always been a bit of a drifter. Poetic, introverted, and fiercely loyal, she finds herself intertwined with a rising band, 5 Seconds of Summer, when her best friend Ashton invites her into their world. It's 2011 when everything starts. The band is just forming, their dreams barely sketches on the horizon. Margie becomes more than just a friend to the group-she's family. As the years pass, they grow together through chaos, fame, heartbreak, and healing. But there's one connection Margie can never quite shake: her unrelenting chemistry with Calum Hood. Despite their undeniable bond, life keeps pulling them apart-bad timing, relationships, and their own fears. Over the years, their spark simmers in the background, threatening to ignite at every turn. Margie struggles to find herself in the shadow of Calum's love life and battles her own personal demons. Yet, as their journey unfolds, it becomes clear that sometimes, the person who feels unreachable is the one who's been there all along. This is a story of growth, friendship, loss, and love-of finding your voice and deciding when to let go or when to fight for something real. Starting in 2011, Verses Unspoken follows Margie and 5SOS through their years of fame and beyond, showing that sometimes, the greatest stories are the ones that take time.
