Michael heard the rattling of a key in a lock before the door to his cell creaked open. A sliver of light now illuminated the dimly lit room. "Michael?" A woman's voice called softly, "It's time to take your morning medication." her feet dragged against the rubber tiled floor (rubber rather than cement to protect the patients from injury) as she made her way closer to the teen. He looked up at her with a blank expression before accepting the few pills and paper cup of water. He's been doing this for a little over a year now, taking medication three times a day. "Thanks," He said in a raspy voice before handing the empty cup to the nurse, who left immediately. The pills Michael took kept him at a controllable emotional level. He was known to over react and change emotions rapidly, but the medication brought his thoughts to a medium. Bored as usual, Michael's eyes scanned around the room to the empty spring bed across the room from him. Back when Michael wasn't as violent, there was a nice boy named Andrew who lived with him. Michael wasn't allowed roommates anymore. At least that's what he thought.
