I walked down the hallway of my soon to be "old school", and since it was around 7:30am, it was very lonely. I quickly found Jacks locker, and slipped the letter in. I began to feel sick to my stomach. My mind was telling me to burn the letter and watch the remains of the paper fly away in the wind, but my heart was telling me to leave it in his locker, and let him read it. What I was most afraid of was that he was just going to ignore it, and eventually forget about it. Forget about me. "Don't forget about me," I whispered. And then I walked away, with those four words hanging in the air around his locker. Around the letter that held my feelings. And those feelings would soon be revealed to the boy with my heart.

"It's you and me. Together," he says. "Us against the world." ***** All my life, I've never trusted men. The image of them planted in my head is the figure of my abusive stepfather who has made my mother and I live in hell. But then, an encounter with the school's football team captain, Jake Spencer, in one particular morning, starts to make me question my judgment. It's the day when he saves me. He's given me hope I never knew existed. However, I'm the only one who remembers. Of course. He's the superstar in my high school, and I'm just a girl trying to fit in. I should stay away from him, blending in the crowd just like I used to do, avoiding him. Because we are two people from two different worlds. So when fate decides differently, it strikes me with a force so violent that I can't escape from. He destroys me. And just like the first time we met, I'm the only one who remembers everything. Little do I know that it destroys him too. ***** THE SPENCERS SERIES BOOK #2 © 2020 Anya Jayvyn. All Rights Reserved.
