Ever heard of a book called "The Mysteries of Harris Burdick?" Well, this is a short story based off of the picture in the book titled Mr. Linden's Library. The cover of the story and the quotation "He had warned her. Now it was too late." were all I had to base the whole thing off of.
Read on to find out how I used these things to create the story of Riley Anderson.

In a sick sort of way, she loved it-reminiscing about Leo, literally drowning in the memories of him. And it isn't long till Riley does drown herself among those gray memories, shutting and shunning the world forever, in a place too far to reach. She is already so gone, that every one of her friends and family are very close to giving up, and on each tick of the clock Riley is close to letting go. Will a curious stranger's words save her, or will Riley try to save herself? *If you read the summary, and decided that it is some sort of typical clichè , I'd like to tell you that this is NOT a cliche 'damsel-in-distress-saved-by-a-knight-in-shining-armour' story at all. You won't find anything such as that, as the tags suggests too. I am 16 years old and finally will have a life out the home I have know for so long. I will be going to a school. The leaders of our city will be picking which school I fit in. Except these school aren't what they seem to the naked eye. They involve monsters no one ever thought real. Vampires, Werewolves, Witches and Shape-shifters. How can I survive learning about these things daily for my whole life?! But, the thing is I won't be learning about them to just...learn. I'd Like to think I was a good person, before it all began. I didn't cheat on tests, or steal. But throughout my entire life, I was treated if I were a monster.
