(A/N: STORY UNDER CONSTRUCTION. REWRITE IN PROGRESS.)

Amelia Joanna Wakefield was diagnosed with Schizoaffective Disorder when an invisible tormentor, named Mel, became a little more than just an imaginary friend. Her condition was kept a secret between her and her pristine parents from the community in order to keep up appearances.

Finally after all these years, Mel disappears and her bullying comes to an end... Or so Joanna thought...

Two years after Mel vanishes, Joanna works to turn her life around and works as a therapist at River Oaks, a psychiatric hospital in New Orleans. But, will the mysterious, temperamental and troubled Greaser Boy with all his dark delinquent tendencies corrupt her path to normality and taste for sanity? Or will she corrupt him with her method to fake being sane out of River Oaks for good? And what of Mel? Is she really gone or will she claw her way back to the surface of Joanna's mind to run amuck and reek havoc once again in the physical realm? The only thing standing in Joanna's way of having the life she's dreamed of is her possible, forbidden love interest, manic patients, a missing childhood, and a vengeful hallucination.

This is no bad boy meets good girl cliche... It's more along the lines of: mysterious, mental patient meets schizo therapist while hospital rules and an alter ego stands in their way.
