Samantha Berkshier is and always will be the most popular girl in school. She is the dance team captain but secretly she is a total nerd. She tries and hides it from everybody and never opens up about anything. The only person that knows who she really is, is her best friend Marissa. They have been best friends since kindergarten. That is until Samantha moved away because her dad got a job in Florida, but they over looked that because it was a thirty minute drive from where they used to live. Life for Samantha gets tough when her mom passes and she doesn't know who she should rely on, books or her team mates. She talks to Marissa and tries to seek advice but doesn't know which way to go.
