Petals of my moonflower
Red isn't always romance, sometimes it's blood, Moon isn't always for lovers, but sometimes for secret cries, Flowers aren't always for marriage, but sometimes for grave, Petals aren't always soft, sometimes they prick the soul. No plagiarism/No hatred plz. Also some things might contain mature contents like self harm. I want to say those kinds of suicidal poems are not to inspire anyone to self harm. Excerpt: "I am everything: The autumn winds easing the leaves away from their branches, A baby's smile at daddy's funny face, The tears that seep into the soil at a funeral, A heavy snowfall on Christmas Eve. I am a hug: Offered only during times of sadness, Never given often enough. I am a mirror: Reflecting the moods of those in my surroundings Or the inanimate objects that remain once all have gone home. I am a microphone: Echoing the opinions of those around me, Telling the truths of all, but only being accepted by one. I am a shell: Full of the many memories of yesterday, Unable to grasp anything today. I am a skeleton: Stripped away of any feeling, After everyone has taken a piece. I am nothing: Not a firefighter, Thanked for saving the family pet. Not a lover, Dearly missed by her significant other. Not a role model, Written about for a second grader's project. Beautiful, meaningful lines
If my collection inspires even one person, it would make me delighted knowing that it made a difference. I always had a thing for nice quotes. I used to write them even at a young age. Whenever I see a nice line - be it from a book, celebrity or some other unpopular sources, I feel amazed by them, and then lately, I started writing them down somewhere so as not to forget. Now and then a beautiful line would just pop in my mind, and if I don't have the means to write immediately, I would just try to memorize until I put it down. I write quotes anywhere, if I think that I am going to forget. They are just scattered in places so much so that I feel the urge to bring them together. What's better than to bind them in a book? P.S. except the quotes that are from revealations, i.e. the Qur'an and Sunnah, there are always room for errors in human opinions, so I recommend the readers to use their own sense of judgment as well.
