Katy Davidson's life is devastating and drifting apart. Her father is marrying a new woman and moving the family to Texas. Katy, having to leave her friends behind from New Jersey, feels unloved by her father and decides to run away to live with her friend she knew since she was 12. She lives in Oklahoma so Katy would have to get there through the summer train. But after a surprise awaits her in Oklahoma, Katy has a decision to come back to her father, or forever wander the lonely world on her own.
