The demons that preyed viciously on any stray thread of hope till it resembled a sacrificial lamb slaughtered beneath the claws of a wolf.

Herald had lived within the castle he called home for several decades yearning for nonexistent escape. Throughout the night he's felt the shivering poison of ink leaking beneath the cracks of the walls. Where he confined himself to ruling from the shadows, just like his father. That was the year where winter did not leave. The winds grew stronger, bringing more and more bitter cold air with them. The kingdom grew weak. There was little food and the people were starting to lose hope. Then, one day a letter arrived at every home in the kingdom: there was to be a ball held at the palace. Everyone was invited, and everyone went. The time spent in the palace was grand. That was until one of the guests went missing. A young woman was escorted from the ballroom and was never seen again. Spring returned for a short time, and then winter crashed back down upon the land. And another ball was held. People were skeptical and did not want to attend, but they had no choice. Yet another guest went missing, another woman. The parties continued annually. Everyone in the kingdom was forced to go and every year, another person was escorted away. Most years it was a woman, one year it was a man. It has been six years since the beginning and winter is coming, after yet another short spring. It is time for another masquerade.

"You're unbearable!" He kicks her with utter contempt. "Please tell me where I'm wrong, causing you discomfort was not my intention," she said crying, causing him to hit her against the ground again. "Do you think you can live with good intentions? Didn't you have all the time you wanted to change and learn? You still dare to ask for more!" He yells at her with hatred, he blamed her for being the one will cause a woman to be beaten; He didn't want to be that kind of man. However, what he lived with her caused him to bring out what he hated the most about himself from within. -Forget it love- said a woman who was next to her- it's not worth it- this dog was supposed to be her friend, she was supposed to support her just like she did; however he managed so that he and she hated each other and thus be able to steal it. The woman on the floor does not know how much she was framed and harmed by her naivety, nor did she know that this was the beginning of her misfortunes. Because of that woman she did not stop suffering, wherever she went she suffered verbal or physical abuse and everything was orchestrated by this woman; she didn't know until she was about to faint. "Why?" She asked this unarmed woman without knowing why she hated him so much. She never did anything to hurt him. She just laughed viciously without answering him, she didn't have to waste her time with an insect; leaving La to die imprisoned in the house where she was kidnapped. "Answer me!" She got up from her bed screaming "Eh? This looks like my room; Did I reincarnate myself in the past?" She ran to the bathroom just to see that her assumption was correct. She thanked the heavens for this second chance by promising that she wouldn't be fooled a second time.

this is my rendition of beauty and the beast and its far from disney Love does not exist. Not for me anyways. How could anyone show love for a monster like me? I was a bastard of a man who hermits himself inside a large, ominous castle. Almost all of the rooms were empty, showing little sign of what used to be, of the servants and family that used to inhabit it. The only sign that people still lived here was the linen and food that would be outside my bedroom door every morning and my bed being made when I wasn't in the room by the few servants who chose to stay and be loyal to me and my curse. Why they chose to remain here after the others fled?

In this land there are two categories of people, normal humans like the readers and writers of this story and then those who can see the magic and evil. There are animals but there are also magical creatures, some good, some bad and some that are just there. You always stood out from the rest. You had the eyes that held the power to see these creatures. Bright yellowish gold eyes and people were scared of you. They were scared because you were above all of them. Your parents owned this old fashioned city. It was a village the size of a city and it had some modern technology mixed with no technology. You had no friends for for so long and people always bullied you probably because they were scared of you. They didn't know of the magical side of the land. They didn't know that some people can see it. They would only see the creatures if they made themselves seeable. Everything was normal one day, people treating you like trash and you running crying to your mom. But your parents had gotten you something that they know nothing about or take care of but they put the responsibility in your 10 year old hands.

There was a Spirit. A Spirit Wolf to be exact. She had fluffy white fur, and some parts as inside her ears, her paws, and her eyes glowed.This particular Spirit preferred to be alone. She did not like company. Only 2 years ago a raven wouldn't stop bothering her. Surprisingly, this bird became her beloved companion. He helps her with her job as a spirit-and distracts her at times. The Spirit Wolf's job is to bring life and to pass life. Bringing life is to help plants grow and to watch over all of the new mothers in spring. To pass life means to let a corpse sink into the ground and become one with earth itself. If the creature that passed had a good life, the Spirit would put them into the afterlife. If they died a very unfair death or was too young for their life to be over, she would help them reincarnate. She could not reincarnate a creature every time it was killed, though. It would only make them have infinite lives. The Spirit Wolf seemed unhappy when she did her job, but she enjoyed seeing the faces of pure happiness of the new mothers. To summarize her duty, she needs to keep the law of nature in order. Even though she despises humans, she helps them too.
