Charlotte isn't your average girly girly or you average tomboy. She is simply in the middle. She is very social during school, but outside of school hours she sits at home and reads or writes. Her father moves her and her brother across the country to get them away from their mom who has an abusive boyfriend. This is it! It's her time to start over, but what she didn't know about the school was it is an art school. There she meets a ton of people who are considered outcasts or misfits, but they soon become her family.
