I am ice and he cannot thaw me. He stumbled back, as if losing his will, his spirit.
And I left, never to look back. This town had given me enough pain and misery to last a lifetime. With each stride my mind became clearer, my determination more resolute. As I took in a deep breath, I felt more in command of my own mind, body and soul. I am walking into a new dawn, a new beginning, a new life ahead.

I couldn't resist bursting into laughter, shaking my head at his stubborn attitude. "Fine, you win this round. But don't expect me to swoon like a 90s heroine." He shrugged. "No promises needed.
