Akira and Kaneki were as close as any siblings could possibly be. After their mother passed away, having worked herself to death; all they had were one another. The set of twins kept each other afloat throughout High School and even College. Until the day Kaneki went out with Rize, the "Binge Eater". Akira, having been caught in the same accident after trying to save her brother, had been distributed some of Rize's organs as well. Life had gotten harder for the two now half Ghouls, but they remained together and made the best of things.

That is until Aogiri Tree kidnap Akira.

Jason puts Akira through the worst of tortures, the same he had gone through when he himself had been tortured. But instead of eating her in the end, when she had finally accepted Rize as part of her; he thinks of an even better experiment.

Enter Kaname Kuran, pureblood vampire.

Jason and Ayato conceive a plan to make a true hybrid, a Ghoul/Human/Vampire monstrosity. And Akira is the perfect guinea pig. So, in order to protect her brother from the same inhumane experiences Jason had put her through, she must marry Kaname Kuran, and keep her true self a secret.
