Liam Payne has been deaf for seven years due to a medical anomaly his doctors have yet to solve. He's accepted he'll never hear again. It's not until he wakes up in the night to a sound. And not just any sound. A moan. His roommate's moan. A moan, saying his name.

It's been five years since the year of hell, as Zayn would call it. Five years since Zayn and Liam were forced to live a year without each other, five years since Zayn was diagnosed with Paranoid Schizophrenia and five years of Liam trying to recover from the mental and emotional abuse of being held hostage for ten months. You'd believe that after five years they'd be able to live a normal life, with Zayn receiving treatment and Liam having weekly sessions with a therapist, that they would be able to be happy and worry free as they wish they could be. Sadly, what they went through wasn't something someone can get over as quickly as one getting over the fact that they didn't get the last slice of pizza or that they no longer have ice cream in the freezer. No, things were much harder for them both than they expected it to be, but together they'll get through it. Except, neither one will admit to their significant other that they aren't okay. They keep it a secret from each other, and that isn't helping.
