I raced to the library and sprinted up the stairs and onto the roof.
There standing with her back turned to me on the edge of Seattle's tallest library was the love of my life.
As the fear rose inside of me my voice rang out in the silence.
"SAM!!!"
Her head snapped in my direction at the sound of my voice and our eyes met. And in that moment I saw all of the pain in her eyes. I noticed she wasn't wearing her hoodie. I saw all of the scars she put on herself and my heart broke in two.
"Blaze. You shouldn't be hear go home"
She whispered to me.
"Blaze no get down from there and we'll go home together" I said with tears streaming down my face.
"I'm sorry my love I can't do that" she said in a soft voice and started crying again.
And she whispered in such a quiet whisper I'm surprised I heard it.
"I love you"
I recognized our saying at once and whispered
"To the moon and back"
She faced me shed a single tear and whispered
"Goodbye" and leaned back.
