As much as Selene Collins is wanting adventure and to travel all over the world, she is stuck in a house with her crazy mother and unbearable sister who have thoroughly destroyed her reputation in the society they live in.  Just to top it off,  Henry Evans her worst enemy is set on making her life even worse than it was with plenty tricks and teasing.  Fortunately for her, Joseph Evans (Henry Evan's younger brother) befriends her as a child which helps her get through everyday. 

When the news hits that Henry is being sent across seas to a boarding school, Selene could not be happier. Just as things are starting to look up for Selene Collins, her mother decides that she needs to be sent to a boarding school as well. 

When Selene comes home 9 years later, she finds that she isn't the only one that has returned.  As she must face the people and friends she once knew, she must also face the secret that has haunted her her whole life; and falling in love only makes that secret harder to keep secret. "Glimpse of Hope" illustrates the meaning of the troubles of the process of falling in love but also the promises it brings.
