Madeline and Josh have been best friends since 3 years old. Maddie doesn't know it, but Josh has developed a crush for her since grade four.
    High school has hit and Maddie wants to hang out with people other than Josh. For example, the richest girl in school, Jane Rutt. Maddie is accepted into Jane's clique and Josh now wanders the halls alone. 
    As time passes, Josh sees Maddie with another boy, the sports champion Mark, walking together, talking together and sitting together. Josh gets jealous and tries to get in their way, desperation and jealousy driving him forward. He tries to get back at Maddie by kissing other girls,   but nothing seems to work. It seems Maddie has ignored him completely. 
    But then, a great tragedy makes Maddie realize who she really was in love with.
    Romance, high school drama and love triangle entangles together in the novel,
