Lacra is a mirrorpainter, capable of seeing the past in all reflective surfaces. She's on the run from a troubled past when Count Boyar's daughter is kidnapped and she, and her strange talents, are drawn out of hiding to find the girl before it's too late.

This story won first place in the Writers of the Future competition, and appeared in the Writers of the Future vol. 30.
