I never thought someone could make me forget about all the pain I went through until I met Brayden. The only problem is, my abusive mother forbids me to see anyone. I'm not allowed out, besides to go to school. Brayden was the schools player, star athlete and my best friend from the time we started pre-k. I, on the other hand, was the loner in the school. No one knows me as Katie, I'm only ever known as the girl who doesn't talk and Brayden's loser friend.

Let me introduce myself. I'm Katie. Katie Elizabeth Matthews. I'm 18 and a senior at McQueen High School. I live at home with my 49 year old alcoholic and abusive mother. The drinking started when my dad died fighting for our Country. The abuse started exactly one year after he died when I came home 5 minutes past curfew because I lost track of time while visiting his grave.

Brayden Austin Bryan. The schools most popular student and the biggest player you'll ever meet. You'd think with his grades, and talents that he would actually try doing something other than sleeping around, but nope. He does good in school because his father owns the biggest law firm in South Carolina, so he has a reputation to uphold. He may be a complete dickhead to almost every female but he's my best friend. The only female besides the ones in his family that he doesn't disrespect.

Follow along in my journey of the madness that comes along with my life. You'll find out about my abusive mother and you'll get to learn more about the unique relationship that Brayden and I share.
