Heartless ones

The Kolia are an ancient race of aliens. They are known for their ruthlessness as well as the supernatural abilities they possess. They have slowly taken over the earth and made it their new home as natural disasters destroyed their old home. In order to be the supreme race, they have purged themselves of weaknesses, including their own emotions. Thus, they have been nicknamed "the heartless ones". As they have finally gotten a grip on this new world and learned how to rule it with a firm hand, will one girl ruin it all?

Elaine Flairess is half human and half Kolia, just like most of their society now. Being born a Kolia, it is supposed to be easy to be heartless. However, Elaine continues to struggle to control her emotions and graduate from her training as a soldier. On top of this, she hears rumors of an organization of outcasts and misfits that are brewing a rebellion. Her last mission before graduating is to infiltrate this secret society and take down the leader.

There just seems to be a few problems. To find this organization, she must travel through unknown terrain where mythical creatures lurk. Then there is the whole new problem with a mysterious man who inserts himself into her mission and seems to be breaking down her own walls. Will Elaine be able to survive this journey and rejoin her society as a hero soldier? Or will she fail and face a gruesome fate? And what is causing her heart to beat fast whenever she is near the strange man whose eyes seem to pierce her soul?
