When Salem Nalepka turns eighteen, the dreams start. They're inconspicuous at first, but as months pass, she starts to realize they all have one thing in common... They all come true - whether it be a natural disaster, a school shooting, or the robbery of a local bank not even a mile from her home.

After graduating high school, Salem decides to put her "gift" to use by working as a fortune teller in New Orleans' Jackson Square.
