There was something fragile in her mismatched eyes. I couldn't place it, but something hid there, just below the surface. She stared at me, voice crumbling and lost and oh so fucking beautiful. "You can't be with me, Isaac." I stepped closer. She was right. There was so much wrong with both of us. We were destined to fall apart; it was only a matter of when. "I know. I'm a mistake, you're a disaster." "Yeah." Her hair was falling in front of her eyes again, covering the tiny flecks and the little scar under her left eyebrow. My fingers yearned to touch it. "I'll ruin you." "Let's ruin eachother." - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - For Isaac Darlings, the only relief in life seemed to be drugs. Living with anger issues and no goals, an excstacy overdose lands him in multiple hospital visits and forces him to see a psyciatrist, who in turn suggests he joins a support group, and after much persuasion he agrees. Via Hale is, in no accounts, normal. Hopelessly depressed and sufferer of recurring nightmares, there is little hope to her life, even in the day time. The trauma of past events in her life makes her difficult to befriend, unstable to talk to. Perhaps that is why her therapist forces her to attend a support group, wanting her to branch out. Five mentally-unhealthy teenagers are thrown together in unlikely circumstances. * * * * * * * * * * * * * All copyright goes to exiistentialcrisis, author of this particular text. I lost someone dear to me in the midst of the Heroin Epidemic hitting MA in the last 3 years that spurred me to write The A Team. It is a reference to Ed Sheeran's song. This story was my grieving process. Without it, I'd be in a maelstrom of emotions that I wouldn't know what to do with. Also, my favorite band, Fall Out Boy, has a physical copy of this story. I gave it to them this past summer at a Meet & Greet in Mansfield, MA for the Boys of Zummer tour. I'd probably bawl my eyes out if I ever hear that they read it, but I don't want to hold out too much hope. They are my second form of coping with anything, and their music gave me the drive to even write the novella. Here's the description: What does it mean to truly learn to love your life again? Rebellious, yet exceptionally intelligent, Eugenia "Janie" Cole, asks herself this every day. Its hard to do such a thing when life deals you a bad deck of cards. Addicted to pain killer, kicked out of her only home for abusing and stealing said pain killers, becoming homeless, and befriending a punk chick by the name of Nina Monroe; a music scene junkie who seems to be just as messed up as her. In the hidden back drop of Boston, Massachusetts, Janie goes in search of her spirituality through parties, drugs, and that one beautiful moment that will explain to her why darkness follows in her footsteps. Will she find it all on her own before her past comes back to haunt her?
