A werewolf captured and tortured for years on end. 

Hunters are the people who did this for there own sick entertainment.

Caspian night-more is or should I say was alpha of the Phoenix pack. The reason for this was because of a betrayal which led to him being captured by hunters. 

When the packs alpha first disappeared they where frantic trying to find him but they just couldn't for there was no trail at all to follow. They got the surrounding packs to help yet after months of trying they just couldn't find him. 
The other packs gave up, yet they didn't. For they knew that he was still alive since none of them have suffered the loss of losing there alpha for the connection between them was still there...just lost.
