The mother of Mirella didn't want any part of what was happening between the families and the man was power hungry. She took her daughter and ran away from his destruction of madness. Now, her past is catching up to Mirella. She hides in the big city of Rome as a thief, but not with the thieves guild as she likes to be on her own.
