Harvey "Hiccup" Haddock is a former member of the army. When an explosion goes off during a field mission, he loses his lower left leg and his right leg is now numb from the knee down. He has a prosthetic for his left leg and a brace for his right. Now dependent on crutches, he's not sure what to do anymore...until he finds out his twin brother Jack was forcibly drowned for his place in the Avatar Program on Pandora.
