Every time she smiled it gave everyone else hope. If something ever was to happen to her there'd be no hope left. She was the light among the darkness for this group of survivors.

Gracie just wanted things to go back to the way they were. Sure, things weren't so good for her then, but at least she wouldn't have been all alone. She was only twelve when this apocalypse started, and she was left to fend for herself.

It's been a miracle that she lasted alone for almost four years, and she's barely been making it. That all changes when something happens and she realizes she really isn't as alone as she thought.
