This was a winning competition entry. It won't be continued as a story, but has been re-written in the style I would use for any of my other stories. 
I've uploaded it simply to share it with you, the reader. Enjoy.
This was the brief:
Write the opening of a Doctor Who story, 500 words maximum, which must include a book or a library in the theme.
