For Katerina Tremain, life as a child was difficult, and as an adult has only gotten worse. As a small child, Kat's parents always nit picked at everything she did. It was never good enough for them. She was a failure in their eyes and no matter how much she tried to exceed their expectations, she was still not good enough. She never would be. She developed low self esteem, anxiety, depression, and over time-paranoia. She adapted and learned to deal with it. She was afraid to do anything for herself. Paranoia along with the constant "What could happen" plagued her every move, her every decision. Fear of the unknown.

Going to club 'Pure' was the start of her new life, but when a stranger buys you a drink...you shouldn't accept it. That undiluted feeling of 'fight or flight' hit her in one enormous wave. Fear brought on adrenaline, it sung in her veins-and as she turned to hastily leave, that nagging thought in the back of her mind said, "You're being watched. Run. Now."

Katerina knew right then and there that she had made the worst decison of her life. She knew going out to a club and being around people would only cause more problems. What she didn't know was, it would change her future. Her life. Her very soul.

And changing her future was going to be slow, painful, and filled with psychological and physical torture.

Of course slow, painful, and deliciously torturous is Viktor's specialty-and right now-Katerina was on the menu.

There are worse things than death. ___ "What is wrong with you?" I seethed. She had my back against the wall, pinning me down so I couldn't move. She was much stronger than me, even when I used my strength to get out of her embrace. I held her gaze and I knew that she was gone. There wasn't an ounce of goodness left in her body. She laughed at my question. Of course, I knew what was wrong with her. But I have to find a way to get her back. "What is wrong with me? Ha, nothing sweetheart." she told me with a smile on her face. "I'm just having a little fun." "Yeah, and fun for you is killing innocents," I growled. "Oh, I hate to say this to you but they aren't all innocent." I finally broke free of her and I dropped her to the floor. I held her down with both arms while I was on top of her. All she did was give me a smile. An eerie smile that made a shiver run down my spine. "I should kill you for what you've done," I whispered. "I should make you pay." "Oh, but Sebastian, you won't," she said. "You know why? Because at the end of the day I'm still me, and you will never hurt me, will you?" I hated that she was right. I couldn't kill her. My mind told me that it would be the best to do it but my heart told me otherwise. I mentally cursed at myself for letting this happen to her. "Elora, I know you're still in there." I said. She was still on the ground, but she was not resisting which seemed odd. "She died a long time ago," she said finally. "Alongside her love for you." ___ Book Two in the "From Death to Life" Trilogy #13 in Bloodlust
Violet Scarlett by BekyCybille

*Edited version on my profile Violet has been tortured for more than half of her life for being different from other wolves. She was abused physically and mentally when she didn't shift like all other children. On her sixteen birthday she changed from a broken human to a broken ruthless wolf after being rejected by her mate and a horrible incident. With her companion she traveled in and out of territories seeking revenge dodging the destiny she knew she would have after finding it out on her sixteen birthday becoming THE ruthless rogue. Four years later she is now the alpha of one of the most powerful pack and one of the most powerful wolves by her sister's side. Until demon sightings began to increase and the council paired her with her old pack in order to have a chance against this rising threat. Her pass is catching on with her, a past she never even knew she had. She has to deal with her old pack uncovering her secrets she thought she had left behind and the ones she currently carries with her. Now she has to decipher which is the truth and which is not based on her past centuries of life which is all blank to her. Her mysterious connection with the king of demons, attacks against her to break her and her packs trust and a century old council that will do anything to make her unable to fulfill a legend unknown to all. One things for sure. It's going to be hell and Violet Scarlett will be the one sure to bring it. Revenge and torture takes a big part in her vocabulary in this century. "I know you're a virgin but have you never been touched?" He asked, sliding his other hand down onto her leg. "What makes you say that?" Kat breathed, bracing her hands on the counter. "You react like someone who's never felt another's touch," Nex whispered, slipping his thumb under the band of her shorts. "So, have you not?" Kat opened her mouth to speak but stopped when his hand slid up from her leg, gliding up her stomach and stopping just below her breast. "Not even here?" He asked, following the curve of her breast with one finger, not touching, staying just below as he dragged it back and forth. "What about here?" He asked, sliding his hand down from her ribs to the bottom of her shorts then around to her butt, fingers nearly grazing it as he inched them up, under her pajamas. "I can say with certainty, never here," he said, lowering his other hand under the waistband of her shorts, touching the top of her underwear. "No, you've definitely never felt that before. I can hear your heart racing, I can feel your breathing, I can smell your body responding like it's never experienced these sensations before," he whispered, sliding a finger just underneath the band. "Should I answer its call?" #1 in demons on 6/15 -6/17/20! Again on 6/20 and 6/22-6/23! Sweet and innocent Katherine has a routine and is a little tightly wound. She was simply trying to rehearse lines for an audition. Next thing she knows, she's reading out loud her Latin lines and suddenly someone appears, claiming to be a demon she summoned to kill someone for her. Turns out demons can be hot. And he's getting pissed off she won't give him a name so he can kill and go home. The problem is, pissed off turns into something else and before he knows it, he wants to take away some of that innocence and loosen her up, or better yet, tie her up make her his. The years went by as Kira watched everyone else blossom and grow. The children had turned 18 and had stopped aging physically. With every passing year, their powers grew stronger, but they were not the only ones. He was getting closer; they were getting closer. Kira could feel it. It's almost like that tingling feeling on the back of your neck or when the hair on your skin would stand up straight. That strange feeling where a person feels like someone is standing behind them, but when they turn around, no one is there. That is how Kira feels; the intensity of those feelings grows with each passing year. It was only a matter of time before the Gates would open, and once more, Kira would face her own personal demon. He will come for her, and one of them will die, if not both of them. Looking back at her very long life, Kira realizes that she has many regrets. Such as allowing herself to live in fear, sheltering herself away in heaven, giving up her only child, not being there for her or their kin, and only watching what she has created bloom from afar. Had Kira known she was running out of time, she would've done things differently. For the choices she has made, she will pay the price. Time is ticking, like the sands of an hourglass. No matter how hard she tries to delay the inevitable, the sand continues to flow through her fingers. Nothing could prepare them for what is to come. Between the journal and Kira's nightmarish dreams, she doesn't know which scares her more. However, she does know one thing, and that is that she refuses to go down easily, even if it means she must make the ultimate sacrifice. It will be a fight to the finish.
