So he got in his car and drove - and he somehow ended up in Broken Branch, Colorado  Then he ended up in a bar, where he met a girl.  And try as he might, he couldn't resist her.  Her name was Maggie and she was nowhere even near his type. And there was something about this town that made the hairs on the back of his neck stand up - but he was compelled to stick around and see if there was more to this Maggie - and this town - to figure out.

Maggie West needed a break.  She was so exhausted she could hardly see straight.  But she never took a vacation -- because she never leave Broken Branch.  If she left, they would be vulnerable - they would be in danger - and she couldn't let that happen.  So she spent every single day on watch and on edge.  Then Jacob Hunter blew into town and brought chaos in his wake.  She knew who he was - who his family was - and they had quite the reputation.
