Since We Were Kids (Newt x Reader)
"We are never getting out of here are we," I said to my best friend without the slightest bit of hope. "Come on, Teddy. Don't think like that," he says trying to reassure me. I notice him fidgeting with his hands, knowing I'm probably right. We are both standing on the Watch tower, leaning over the railing. I look across the Glade. I study the people and my surroundings. I remember when I first met Newt. Two young kids finding their way out of the Maze. We protected each other at all costs. We still do. We are all each other has. ~~~ Teddy has been trapped in the Glade for about three years. She was the third person to come up in the box with pure confusion and fear. Sometimes though, she wonders about what life outside the Maze is like, what their lives could be like. Even though the Glade is the only home Teddy and her fellow Gladers have ever known, she wants to leave. She wants answers. She wants to know the life she can't remember living. They've seemed to have tried everything, and loosing her friends is her worst nightmare. But when the opportunity is open to leave, thanks to Thomas, will they take the chance to get out? This is a TMR fanfic. A Newt x fem!Reader. (Sorry to everyone else about the pronouns) I'm not going to give a ton of the plot away, but why don't you just try the first chapter and see what you think? If you don't like it, no biggie! [EDIT 1] My work is currently undergoing some revisions. I wrote this 5 years ago, and needless to say, some of the dialogue, scenes, wording, and overall feel is quite childish. Not all of it, but some of it. I've decided to revisit my original first story and make it better. The story is definitely much more mature now, and I think everyone will enjoy it better now that the tone has changed to fit the melancholy nature of my story. Thanks in advance. enemies to lovers all ik is I rewatched tmr series being a sheep beforehand and liking Thomas the most but I have come to the realisation that newt clears. and my favourite trope is enemies to lovers but newts character makes it nearly impossible for it to be natural so I'm trying my best and we will see if this story makes it to the end depending on how long my mini hyperfixation will last. heavily inspired by the book by glademother I've already read it twice in one week but I need new substance and no other book devours like that one did so I'm just gonna fulfill my own needs like I should.
