"I am locked. That is the simple fact that I must face. I know nothing of my past, only faint visions of what I can only hope lies out there. It's funny, I can taste the sunlight on my tongue, feel it's warmth soak into my skin, but it would be false to claim that I have actually seen it. I don't know why I'm here, or even where here is. The only thing I'm sure of is this: we must escape."
Sonya's whole life has been spent in a cell. She doesn't have any memories or proof of her past. The only thing she can remember is the world. How things work, the trees, the sky, buildings, animals, smells, sights, and places. Her visions are full of sensory images, creating a holographic world in her mind. The only other human being she's ever, or can remember seeing, is Maple, the girl who's been locked with her since the beginning.
Maple's memories are wiped too, and all she can remember is skills. Unlike Sonya, Maple can't remember the world, just how to do things to keep the world running.
But, one day when a strange book arrives in their cell, they begin to question and ponder why they were locked up together. There might even be proof of others, other children locked up too... Can Sonya and her friends escape and restore life as it was?(CC) Attrib. NonComm. NoDerivs
