Joyce Arias is a dedicated 18 year old dancer who loves nothing more than dancing at an extent at her performing arts school. For her dancing is a salvation for her inner former life. It takes away the pain she manages to live with for the majority of her teen years. Of course, the pain happens to be her family.

Living with a cheating father.

And a mother who works to be away from a home that gives nothing back to her.

As for her sister, Jordan... Well shes moved out an started a new life of her own in New York.

Joyce has no one to turn to but her best friend Sophia Grace.

Suddenly.

A Call. That's all it takes for everything to turn wrong. A Call from her drunken father, and her speeding car to turn wrong.

Suddenly Joyce has to learn how to keep her life in balance without the use of dancing to keep her intact, from remembering.

Even if means not dancing and maybe... Just maybe opening herself to a complete stranger that maybe can help keep her demons within her and just be her PaperWeight?

"You're this gorgeous, ballet-dancer-poet who knows the bartender at the sexy underground club where you take this girl you just rescued from a slimeball at the bus station." She stunned herself with this revelation as she paced back and forth. "This can't be real. You can't be real. Are you secretly a prince too? Or maybe just a wealthy CEO of a big corporation?" "Did you say gorgeous?" he smirked. His charm was so disarming, but she couldn't let him in. She had too much to lose, too much to do. She couldn't let a boy get in the way of her promise to her mother. She mashed her palms into her eyes then looked at him to confirm he wasn't a mirage. He was still there. "Either you're a bad cliché or too good to be true. Neither one is what I need right now." She backed off further, "I've gotta go." He stepped towards her and she retreated more. "Don't," she said as turmoil swirled in her mind. "Clichés aren't all bad," he pleaded. NEON AFTERLIFE Alex's mother died when she was 15 and her father checked-out, turning to drugs and alcohol, so the day Alex turns 18 she leaves home. "𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝, 𝐄𝐢𝐫𝐚 𝐚𝐧𝐝...𝐈 𝐜𝐚𝐧'𝐭 𝐠𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭," 𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐢𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝. Born into a world of wealth, privilege, and expectations, there's Eira Thorsen, a talented ballerina with dreams of securing a place at one of the world's top dance companies. Her life is a carefully curated performance-perfect hair, impeccable posture, and her unspoken drive to succeed. Her passion is her poison and it is only a matter of time before it kills her and behind that polished and impeccably orchestrated veneer of hers, lies a yearning for something real, something unfiltered. "𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐮𝐩 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐬, 𝐙𝐞𝐤𝐞. 𝐈 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮," 𝐬𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐝. Ezekiel Beckett is a different story. Smart with the side of an addiction. Smoking, the only way he knows how to cope, his home away from home, the only way he can deal with his life crumbling before his eyes. Ezekiel is the exact opposite of Eira, broke, struggling to make ends meet and look after his sister all whilst stuck in a constant spiral of a habit he couldn't seem to break or escape despite his wit shining through the haze of his addiction. His rough edges and turbulent life seem worlds away from Eira's poised existence but somehow, they make do. 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐭 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮, 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬. Later... 𝐒𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈 𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐝𝐨.
