The rain is like my cure. It washes over me as I stand with my arms outstretched in the middle of the platform. It is dark, the stars shine and I am alive. Like, yeah I know, I’m alive in the sense that I’m living and breathing but, no, in that moment I am truly alive. I watch as the stars twinkle above me, forever out of reach but never the less still there. They tease me, they say, “You’ll never reach us, we’re too far above you.” And I guess that’s why I’m here, as I look down on the busy motorway filled with late night traffic and I wonder if anyone below would ever contemplate doing what I’m about to do.
