My name is Casey. I have a perfect, beautiful life. My father has just been elected as the President of the United States of America. My mother is head of the CIA. I live in a big, white house with a big lawn. Behind the gates that surround us, people gawk and shove to get just a glimpse of my perfect, beautiful life; as if seeing it would make it real.

Let me tell you a secret.

It’s not real at all.
******************************************************************************************************************************************
My name is Corey and my father is a deranged psycho. My mother lives back in Wales with her own small computer repair shop. I'm pretty sure that I can say that my family is the craziest one out there. My father roped my brother and I into a kidnapping ring. Currently, we're holding one of the most important teens in the US: the president's daughter.

My life was changed forever from that day.

Stephanie Walker - straight-A student, sweet, pretty, and every parent's dream. Her life is perfectly planned out... until her senior year trip throws her into the chaotic orbit of the school's golden boy. Now her final year in high school isn't looking so simple. "Don't let me catch you, cupcake," his voice boomed from downstairs, and I took off running. I ducked behind a pole, heart racing, trying to calm my nerves. Way to go, Stephanie, my subconscious snarked. His footsteps echoed closer. "Where are you, cupcake?" he called out playfully. Like I'd actually tell you, I thought, holding my breath. Silence. Then, warm fingers snaked around my waist, and I didn't need to turn to know it was him. "Found you," he whispered in my ear, and a shiver zipped down my spine. "How?" I breathed, turning to face him. His smirk told me he knew exactly what he was doing to me. Get it together, fool, I mentally scolded myself. "Want the sugarcoated version or the truth?" he teased. I raised a brow at him. "I could smell you from a mile away," he whispered, tucking a lock of hair behind my ear. Butterflies. So many freaking butterflies. "That was the sugarcoated version," he added with a grin. I blinked, narrowing my eyes. "The pole didn't hide you well. Your cardigan was sticking out," he shrugged. And then came the smirk. "Now, time for my revenge." I barely had time to process before something soft and powdery rained down on me. I wiped my face. Flour. He did not just dump flour on me even if I started it. Mature, much? I thought bitterly. Poker face on. "Real mature," I said, brushing past him with fake annoyance. Time to activate drama mode. "Come on, babe, you can't be mad..." he called after me. This book is everything. You NEED to read this.

Gangs. A girl. War. Fights. Love. Hate. Death. All words to describe the city of Athens. The most dangerous city in the country. But only those who have been there know that. Athens is not a place for tourism. Not many people who visit, make it out alive. Vicki, 16, has finally found a home willing to adopt her after 6 years of jumping from home to home, family to family, foster to foster. Some were good. Some bad. Some could, would, and did the unthinkable. But now she didnt have to deal with that. But she had no idea of the secrets that the friendly "welcome to Athens" sign hides. Or did she? She wasn't ever supposed to end up in the system. Or end up on her meds. She remembered nothing of her life before 10 years old. She had always knew something was missing, but this? This was more than she could ever handle remembering. **** "Wow, I thought it was just you guys and Artemis." "There's a whole world of gangs. There are gangs in every country, some even I don't know as a leader." "Is it tough being a leader?" "Some times. Especially when I have to deal with loss. But I also give some opportunities to people who need it. I've even given a homeless man a small job and it set him up for life." "That's cool. Are the Zusians tyrants. I mean were they?" something about the name doesn't shake me. It's stuck in my head for some reason. "They more are now. There's speculation that a kid got out safe and will one day take back the leadership, but after seeing the wreckage first hand, I don't think anybody left it alive," he says it. But he doesn't sound like he even believes himself. "Did the kid get out? Is it even slightly possible?" "Between you and me. I helped her escape. I know she got out. But I don't think she lived long after we lost contact. Why do you ask?" "Something about the name... It is vaguely familiar but I don't know why. Maybe it's just my meds." "You might have just heard it before." *** Cover by @_scintillas

I don't know what the hell is happening. One day I am happy go lucky, and the next everywhere I turn dead people are turning up. And they all want me to say something to someone close by and I do the only logical thing. I run. It isn't fair. My older sister is the witch of love, she can charm anyone with a simple touch. My baby sister is the witch of wisdom and she is starting to just know things out of no where. But now I have dead people, and worst of all, I have my unknown mates, first mate. And she is trying to make me change and be just right for him. So I go and see Clarissa, she is the elder witch my sisters and I have talked with about us. And apparently I can see through the second plain. I can speak with the dead, like Ghost Whisperer and A Medium. ~~~~~~Excerpt~~~~~~ "You can see me!" She said and her face turned ecstatic and I blinked and shook my head. "No, please, I need you to tell my mother that I didn't mean to do do this to myself." I took a hard gulp and met the young girls eye. "Please. It is killing her." She begged and tried to grab my hand but it went through me. "Fine, which one is she?" I asked looking around the restaurant. "The one at the front desk... her name is Maria." She said following me as I walked back towards the front. "A? Where are you going?" Ivory asked and I just held up my hand. "Hi, are you Maria?" I asked and saw the girl nod. "Yes, how can I help you?" She asked with what I can tell was a fake smile. "I know this is going to sound crazy... but your daughter is here." "Mina." The dead girl piped in and I looked over at her. "My daughter is at school." She said and looked around where I had glanced. "Mina is here... I can speak to the dead, she wants me to tell you something."

Completed, but under editing and rewriting. Situation and diction may change, but not the storyline or character. *** "W-when d-did t-they b-build a w-w all on t-the h-hallway?" I asked no one in particular. I rubbed my head with my eyes shut to ease the pain that shot through my head. The sound of laughter made me freeze with my hand on my head. I opened my eyes, slowly. Three handsome boys were staring at me. No, two of the boys were trying to stifle a smile while one of the boys was staring blankly at me. Rude much? It seemed he was the one I hit and not a wall. Thanks Mary for stating the obvious. I stared at his chest probably because he was taller than I am and I had to look up to meet his face. His abs were visible through the blue shirt he wore. Staring at abs in this situation. Oh God! I'm weird. "First you get to be called a wall, interesting. And now, she is checking you out. It isn't fair. Why do you always get the beautiful ones?" One of the boys groaned. I blushed. I was checking a guy out. Wait, What? Did I just blush? Kill me! "I- I m seery, I debt mean to hat you." What did I just say? This couldn't get any worse. The boys looked shocked even the mute handsome boy looked a little bit surprised. Why did I keep calling him handsome? "I-I'm s-sorry I h-hit you, I d-didn't mean to," that sounded better. "Oh," one of the boys said. Oh! Indeed. I was expecting a reply, but the handsome boy in front of me refused to talk. Is he dumb or deaf? "I am Tom. And I am not dumb nor deaf," he said and walked away. I didn't say that aloud, did I? Guess I did. "You did, baby girl," one of the two boys said an. He waved at me dragging his smirking friend with him. That was embarrassing.
