"That was weird, but I can't stop my heart beating ten times faster than it should be. Laying down on the bed I face away from the bathroom door not wanting him to look at me. I pull the white cover up to my nose and look at the wall. I hear the bathroom door open and footsteps reach closer to the bed. The covers are being moved behind me as Mateo gets ready to sleep. I reach up to turn off the lap on my nightstand, and when I do we're left in the dark abyss of my room. Mateo's arm wraps itself around my waist and pulls me back into his hard chest. He gently lifts my head up and puts it back down onto his bicep. I take in a shaky breath and close my eyes deciding it is best to just sleep. Feeling his breath on the crown of my head, I'm more relaxed than I was before and start feeling sleepier by the second. But before sleep overtakes my mind. I hear Mateo mutter something. "Good night sweetheart." ~~~~~~ Moving on. Growing up. The fears of Mateo and Veronica. Two strangers who have been attending the same high school for the past three years. They believe they are different from each other but they have much more in common than they believe. Senior year things change when Mateo finds an interest in Veronica. She decides to give him a chance and see where the friendship goes. What she doesn't realize is that she's falling for him faster than she thought...and he feels the same. Through a camera lens, Mateo shows Veronica how to live her life to the fullest and that she is not alone in this big world. Meanwhile, Veronica is helping Mateo move on from the tragic incident that occurred in his family. Having faith and trusting that their relationship will stay strong. They decide to overcome whatever is thrown in their direction, and that there is always someone on the other side of the lens. ~~~~~~

Veronica Cruz has been through hell and back. After disconnecting with the world two years ago to be at the side of her dying mother, she's left alone, unemployed, overweight, and feeling a decade older than her twenty-eight years. When her best friend coaxes her into joining the local gym to ditch her depression and rejuvenate her life, she meets Noah. Assigned to help Veronica lose weight, Noah is everything she expected a young trainer to be-perfectly chiseled, supportive and motivating. Add to that, he's incredibly sexy. He's everything she's ever looked for in a man. What she least expected was for him to fall for her, but he has. There's just one glaring problem: Noah is eight years younger. Noah Quintanilla has his eye on a boxing title-someday. Down for a few months with an injury, his maintenance-boy pay at 5th Street Gym won't cut it. He's finally given the opportunity to train. The catch? His trainee is an out-of-shape woman with a free week pass. Taking on the challenge, Noah stumbles into one of the closest friendships he's ever known, and before he knows it, he's in love. But Veronica's not having it-the age difference is too much. Their platonic relationship means having to watch her date other men-something that would make him crazy. Believing he's the man for her, Noah sets out to prove that age is but an illusion, and there's more to him than just a number. *She wasn't looking for love - just snacks and a nap. But then he smiled...* ~True love? Unexpected. Emotional growth? Unwanted. Drama? Inevitable.~ Veronica D'Costa isn't exactly the main character type just - a regular teen: emotionally avoidant, chronically sarcastic, and fully committed to winging her way through life, with her loyal (and mildly chaotic) friend group. One night. One betrayal. That changed everything. Now Veronica's pretending, deflecting, and power-napping her way through emotions. But when a certain boy - golden-eyed, infuriatingly kind, and way too observant - starts asking the right questions, she'll have to do the one thing she's avoided all year: feel. Because surviving senior year means more than just acing math or mastering beer pong - it means facing what broke her, before she lets it define her. She's growing up. She's falling in love. And she might just be the main character after all. Messy, meaningful, and mildly chaotic - this is the year everything changes. Even her. P.S.- This isn't a fairy tale. It's a slightly sarcastic coming-of-age crisis.
