She enjoyed the thrill. The adrenaline. Peoples faces when she jumped. Swimming so deep she couldn't breathe. But she could. She slipped silently away for a while, no one noticed. She could go, and be herself. Happy. Alone.

Final book in the "Pearl and Pale series." Pale can't believe it's been over 3 years since she became a mermaid. She has her best friend Pearl, and a boyfriend. She also turns out to be part of the royal family, which makes her Queen of the Sea. Over the years Pearl and Pale have been through many adventures such as protecting the kingdom from fishermen, being captured by a fisherman and his son and rescuing an infant from a bus that fell off the bridge. But, the adventure this time might be the scariest one yet. When Pearl goes exploring and accidentally cuts herself on a strange rock, she suddenly finds herself human. But, the only problem is, Pearl can't breath underwater. The only way to solve the problem is to go where no mermaid has gone before- On land. PG-13 for some cussing but not a lot. The worst romantic scene is making out.
