Tony resigned or quit after Gibbs went to Mexico. He was tired of doing all the work while everyone was out having drinks and fun. He quits and disappears so no one but Palmer knows where he is or that's what he thinks. As he's driving back from getting supplies, in the winter, another car pushes him into the frozen lake on the side of the road. Because of his little dive Tony contracts pneumonia. Normally pneumonia is only fatal sometimes so he shouldn't have started to die, but since he had gotten the Pneumonic Plague and his lungs were still healing. He got back to where he was staying but Tony knew he was dying and wished he had told Gibbs how he felt. The good thing is that Gibbs was on his way to where Tony was staying. Will Gibbs get there before Tony dies or will it be too late?
