All her life Juniper had gone with the flow, letting others lead the way. One day she discovers a strange ancient book in her storeroom and gets sucked (literally) into a world very unlike our own. She meets people with the same abilities as her, battles with inter-dimensional creatures and finds herself travelling to different places across the universe. For the first time in her life, she learns that she can no longer comfortably sit by the sidelines and has to start making decisions on her own.
To tell the truth, Juniper never asked for all this. But was an exciting life what she wanted all along?
