In the Kingdom of Sonya, there was a girl. Her parents were murdered in front of her when she was only 7 years old. Her guardian, Jon Hemshire, took her in and raised her like a daughter. He was the captain of the King's royal army. He taught her how to defend herself and trained her until she was better than any of the soldiers in the army. Then, he died too. Grief stricken, she is taken to the castle, under the kings care. Everything is quiet until one mistake suddenly has her protecting the kings own son! There is one problem though. He can't know he's being protected. Easy right? Excerpt: The sound of my breath quickened as I heard the sounds of the footsteps grow closer. The ground squeaked beneath their feet as the wet shoes walked across the floor. Step. Heartbeat. Step. Heartbeat. The man paused in front of the pantry, where I was hiding. Silent tears fell down my ten year old face in fright as I waited in hope that he wouldn't find me. "I know you're there, little girl." a deep voice called out. I whimpered, too scared to move.
